I'm a health journalist with more than a decade of experience. Most recently, I was senior health writer at Newsweek, where I covered health, medicine and science. I have also been on staff as health writer at CBS News and Everyday Health. More broadly, my writing has been featured in numerous national media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, newyorker.com, New York Times, Marie Claire, Elle, Al Jazeera America and Salon, among others.
I have extensive experience reporting on metro, crime and breaking news, and was the lead reporter on Occupy Wall Street for the Wall Street Journal. I received a Silurian Merit Award in 2012 for my contribution to the Journal's coverage of the protests.
I hold an MA in health and medical reporting from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. Prior to working as a journalist, I spent seven years in the book publishing industry, as both an editor and publicist. I'm a coauthor of Naughty New York: A Lady's Guide to the Sexy City, and a native New Yorker.
