I'm currently a staff writer at Newsweek, where I cover health, medicine and science. I also have held health reporter posts at CBS News and Everyday Health. More broadly, my writing has been featured in numerous national media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, Al Jazeera America, New York Times, Marie Claire, Elle and Salon, among others.
I have extensive experience reporting on metro, crime and breaking news. Beginning September 2011, I was the lead reporter on Occupy Wall Street for the Wall Street Journal, and wrote more than 50 stories about the movement. I received a Silurian Merit Award in 2012 for my contribution to the Journal's coverage of the protests. I hold a Master's from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. Prior to working as a journalist, I spent seven years in the book publishing industry, as both an editor and publicist. I'm a coauthor of Naughty New York: A Lady's Guide to the Sexy City, and a native New Yorker.
